Below is a list of upcoming hikes led by members of the Oak Ridges Trail
Association. We welcome guests and visitors and would appreciate a listing
in your community events.

Sat. May 1, 9am. Glen Major. Moderate/fast 12km, 3-4hrs. Hilly, no dogs
please. Meet E side Uxbridge 7th Concession, 2km N of Durham Rd 5 or 6km S
of Durham Rd.21. (7th Conc. is first road west of Lakeridge Rd/Durham

Sun. May 2, 10am. Uxbridge Trail: Coppins Corners to Durham Forest.
Moderate 10km, 3hrs. Beginners welcome, dogs OK. "Head of Trails" parking
lot, E side Uxbridge 7th Conc, 750m S of Durham Rd 21. (Con.7 is 2km west

Wed May 5, 10am. Uxbridge Trail: Lakeridge to Secord. 13km. Some hills, wet
parts. Dogs on leash OK. Meet: Goodwood Community Centre, N side Hwy 47 at

Sun. May 9, 9:30am. King Trail West. Moderate 15km, 4hrs. No dogs. Meet on
8th Conc, 2.8km S of Aurora-Lloydtown Rd (York Rd 16), or 7.2km N of King

Wed. May 12, 9:30. Humber Valley Trail North. Moderate/fast 20km, 4-5hrs.
No dogs. Peel Rd 50 (former Hwy 50) to Castlederg Sdrd (4.5km N of Bolton

Thurs. May 13, 9-11am. King Trail: Weston Rd to 7th Conc, S of 18th Sdrd.
4km, big hills, slow enough for beginners & children. Dogs on leash OK.
Meet NE corner Weston Rd (York Rd 56) and 16th Sideroad (16th Sdrd is 4km N

Sat. May 15, 11am. Kortright Centre. Moderate 8km, 2hrs. Lovely trails near
Kleinburg. Take Major Mackenzie Dr (York Rd 25) to Pine Valley Dr (3km W of
Hwy 400), then 1km S to entrance. Admission $3-$5. Meet in cafe. Maria

Sun. May 16, 1:30 pm. Palgrave Forest Area. Moderate 10km, hills. Meet: W
side Peel Rd 50 (former Hwy 50), 2.4km S of Hwy 9 or 0.9km N of Esso

Wed. May 19, 9:30am. Claremont Conservation Area. Leisurely 6km, 2hrs. See
wildflowers, beaver pond, film set for Little Men. Beginners & families
welcome; may be muddy; no dogs. Take Westney Rd (Durham Rd 31) about 1.4km
N of Hwy 7 at Greenwood, then follow Durham 31 around corner 100m W to gate

Ballantrae. Beginner/Family . Easy 4km, 2hrs. Dogs on leash OK.. Meet:
Whitchurch CA: S side Aurora Sdrd (York Rd 15), 1km E of Warden Av, or 1km

Sun. May 23, 2 pm. Seneca College, King Campus. Beginner & Family Hike.
Easy 2hrs, good for kids. No dogs. Meet: parking lot attendant, Seneca
College, W side Dufferin (York Rd.53), 2.6km N of King Rd (York 11).

Wed. May 26, 10am. Stouffville-Uxbridge : Ballantrae to Secord Rd.
Moderate14km; lots of roads; some wet sections; dogs on leash OK. Meet:
commuter parking lot in Ballantrae, SW corner Aurora Rd (York Rd 15) & Hwy

Sat. May 29, 11am. Lake Ontario Waterfront. Mode 9km, 2? hrs. Beginners &
families; no dogs. See Second Marsh, McLaughlin Bay, Darlington Park. Take
401 to Exit 419 (Harmony /Farewell) in Oshawa; S 800m on Farewell (Durham
56) to Colonel Sam Dr; then E 2.2km to General Motors Head Office parking.
